clicking noise .....

Default clicking noise .....

i was driving today and makeing a turn and i heard a sound like a loud clicking noise and i remember when i had it on the lift i saw the cv boot was off on the side that faces the wheel and was wondering if that was it or if it was my tie rod

Most likely a CV joint. Usually the one on the outside of the turn. If you have one boot torn off, the other is prolly messed up too.

no the boot is not torn it looks like the boot just slipped off

Hmm... However the problem is still that dirt prolly made its way into the joint and wore it out.

bad axle? or cv joint? usually one of those cause clicking

You should just get a new axle so you can have some fresh cv joints and boots all at once.

Before you go to this trouble and expense, remove the wheel and gently bend back ½" the steel plate cover that extends over your front discs. I had clicking noises from my B5 on tight bends/ roundabouts and the dealer told me this 'trick'.

The clicking only happens when your steering wheel is fully turned?

If so, I would say it's a bad axle/CV joint like everyone else said.
