Compression test
#2
Ok that took way longer than expected. I think I'm happy with my results though. Here they are:
Cyl 3: 140psi Cyl 6: 175psi
Cyl 2: 130psi Cyl 5: 165psi
Cyl 1: 130psi Cyl 4: 175psi
You might be noticing what I am noticing here. The passenger's side readings are much lower than the driver's side. I'm thinking it could be for one of two reasons.
1) I did the left side first and I think because of that I didnt have my compression gauge threaded in quite as tightly as on the other side.
2) When I took the car apart and reset the timing the other day, I DID have a shadow of a doubt that I may have been off a tooth as far as the driver's side cam gear goes.
Questions.
1. Do these compression readings look acceptable? I'm not sure what the tolerances are as far as this goes
2. I forgot 2
3. Are my guesses concerning the differences between the two sides of the engine probable, or possible?
4. How was your day?

Ok will do. Idk why I didn't do that to begin with.

This might be possible if over the last year the Audi didnt suck away my entire financial situation

ComPression is good, so your valves are sealing right. Valve seat wear is minimal, rings are good, and timing should be on target (which we talked about before - after resetting the sprocket, it looked good). Have you tried popping a fuel feed line off the rail and cranking the engine to be sure adequate fuel delivery is there? Or possibly putting a fuel pressure gauge on the line to actually measure startup pressure? You can check pump voltage through the access panel in the trunk, and be sure your pump is good too.
