Well i found a giant crack in a vacuum hose, well i think its a vacuum hose, today. I'm trying to determine what hose it is so i know what to buy. Its between the intake runners, between the first two starting from the firewall, if you look straight down there is a big hose, like a 1" or bigger hose that does two quick 90's and then reduces. What exactly is this hose? I have to get a picture and post it up but does anyone have any ideas?

A picture would help most but at the very least you should tell us which engine and year you have. It sounds like a 1.8T since my 30v doesn't have that but it'd make things easier to know your car's info.

Well ya i guess the details of the vehicle would have been better.
Its a 98 A4 1.8t Quattro, but it is the crankcase vent tube that dragonrage posted, it looks exactly like that. ECS wants $20 to ship that little tube to Canada, that sux.

 

It was about the same price from my dealer.
