ah well it didn't seem to help. The previous owner spliced some wire to the maf harness to make the harness longer because of the turbo location, but the wiring looks like it's been done well and all... Could the harness being longer cause issues maybe?

 

Update: fixed harness, cleaned maf, problem persists and the p0121 code popped back for a throttle body high input - intermittent...

 

Did you ever find out the problem? I know it's been a long time but my audi has the same code p0103 trying to see what it could be .
