^ the guy 2 posts above u answered your question, it doesn't work on vista, it works on xp.

 

This is not the case... Vista takes some tweaking... Version 4091 will not work with Vista, Version 3112 will work with Vista... However you have to set the program to run as an admin, you have to tell Vista to do this it does not do it automatically...

I got 3112 version to work once successfully and havent been able to work since...

So still looking for what I messed up between the first time it worked and each time since.

 

lol, using 4091 on my vista 32, but didn't work on my vista 64 it (dual boot). So.... 4091 works just fine on vista 32 bit. I just had to adjust the com port that vista sets up (hardware settings) then match that in vag com.

 

LOL all very good to know! I would take vag com version 1 working at this point. Thanks everyone for reading and replying still cant get it to work at this point.
