Might be tough to get a fast-spooling turbo that hits hard at 20psi, in the price range you quote. I'd say after driving dmaxn's APR stage 3 car with GT28RS last year, that I'd go with that. Nasty turbo, makes very strong power, and spools fast. If you want to spin 800"RPM, you're going to need to build the head and run bigger injectors (which the RS would necessitate anyway).

I def plan on running bigger injectors and building the head, I have ran precision turbos and super 60's before and hit 25lbs nicely. I just would like to see whats the better turbo for the a4 since I have only been playing with them for a few months. I was thinking about a gt30? I was trying to keep the turbo price down, but im putting aserious limit at $1200. Anymore advice?

Knowing your power goals would help. A 1.8T isn't going to spool a GT30 very quickly at all. The GTRS or a 71r will spool quite a bit faster and make really good power.

Yeah if you want to run a GT30 series turbo or larger you're also going to want to go 2.0L at least. You can run a 2.0L crankshaft, H-beam rods and AEB/IE pistons. Make sure you read up on doing a bottom end build before you start buying ****. You're going to have to get your intermediate shaft clearanced in order to run a stroker kit.

At this point you'd do well to talk to Mike Hood at Ringer Racing. He'll set you straight.

thx guys. Alright so I got the gt30 idea out the window. Im going to start inquiring with my connects about a Gt28... Also I def like the 2.0 stroker kit. Anyone on here done that succesfully so I can ask for questions? I have only ordered a HKS BOV, Greddy Lg front mount, Turbonetics W/G, arp head studs and a couple nick nacks. Im def. at a good point in my build for advice before I order anyparts and that 2.0 set up has really got my ears open!
