grinding noise was in fact coming from the wheels. It seems that the e-brake has been sticking and is totally f'd up. I ordered vagcom because apparently you i'll need to bleed the abs pump... ughh... this is getting annoying lol........

I started a thread on the brake if anyone knows of anything to fix other than scanning
