I have'nt checked inside, but I really don't think the impeller came from this turbo, the car runs fine, would it run if there was no innards in the turbo. I just drove it 150 miles and it cost me like $15 in gas, I thought that was OK, and purrs like a kitten,

you would be buring oil like a **** if that turbo was toast
i think you need to call the PO and see what is really going on, why it has that turbo, exact specs, tuning, injectors etc etc

if the turbo installed is making power it is fine. The previous owner must have broken the shaft with to much boost or something on the stock turbo and whoever installed the current one (sounding more like a GTRS elim) didnt even noticed that the turbine wheel is missing. This car would be a dog if the turbo was busted
