--------------------------

Inspired by chocalotstarfish, I thought I'd make my own update thread and just update it whenever I do somethin' to the car.

I've had it about 2 weeks now and love it, went through my first tank of gas and got 21mpg. But I didn't expect it to be very high .

I just got the car back after having the coolant flange, ECT sender, thermostat/housing, and expansion tank replaced. My idle seemed a little rough and my mechanic thinks the engine mounts are worn out. (snub time!)

After looking at tons of pictures of interiors I really wanted to get some chrome gauge rings, so I picked up a 7 piece set and installed them last night.

I really like them, they look awesome with the red glinting off them at night. The coolant temp and fuel gauge ring were not easy to put in though. Also I couldn't get the cluster clean. I scrubbed the inside and out of the plastic before I put the rings in and couldn't get any of that junk to budge. Anyone have any ideas to clean it?

I also picked up a pair of clear sidemarker lenses on eBay for $15 and an intake manifold for $20 that I'm gonna start sanding .

Definitely. I'm planning a carbon/polished engine bay look. I want to get the euro engine covers, R8 oil and coolant cap, and full carbon fiber engine cover with the polished intake manifold. I'm debating about going with blue or black replacement vacuum lines...

And I have no idea, it almost seems like its in the middle of the plastic but I think its on the front. Got to be...

Nice, I've spent some time around the walnut creek area.

So I was driving today and noticed my odometer isn't lit up...I swear I plugged everything back into cluster. Tomorrow I'll have to take it apart again and check it out.

Indeed, the next major thing being done is a sludge treatment and replacing the turbo oil feed line as a precautionary measure.

After that is the front end work. I'm going with a complete upgraded aftermarket kit (not sure which brand yet.) Upgrading the shocks would be awesome at the same time but I'll probably have to do it in steps.

The next exterior mod I get will probably be an M3 lip and possible debadging the trunk except the rings.

Looking good brother. What are you going to use to polish the manifold?

A lot of sandpaper, elbow grease, and a die grinder.
