Well first of all, I LOVE my new Audi! I've only had for a couple months now, but I'm diggin' every bit of it. This is actually the first car I have ever owned being the bow hunter I am. I can't believe how smooth and comfortable everything is in this car. I have the '01 1.8t and even with only 170 hp it's a rocket compared to my bronco! I love trucks and will have another eventually, but for now I need a 4-door gas saver for my new family And I was originally gonna buy a Passat, but found an A4 Quattro in my price range and haven't looked back.

  • i always liked audi a4's
  • i bought & registered my a4 yesterday
  • i wasn't really looking to buy an audi, but i miss having boost in my life & i always wanted an awd. i saw the ad on craigslist called the guy, saw the car that night, and picked it up yesterday.
  • i was without a car for 5 months and gotten used to it. with my new job i was forced to buy a car. so i was looking for something cheap, reliable, easy to maintain, & can with stand a 6 hour drive to ny from va every so often. my choice was an integra.

Yes, I love my Audi. Not every day, it's felt sort of like a one sided love affair at times, but she does me right at the end of the day.

I've owned her about a year and 6 months.

I bought one on the good word my brother had always said about Audi's back when I was just a wee little guy "Audi's will just go and go, if you treat'm good"

I was actually looking for a good AUDI in general, not specifically the A4. I did a whole bunch of research on reliablity, customization and drivability. I finally had it down to just two, a 98k 00' A4 2.8 non-quattro Auto-tran, or a 154k 99.5 A4 1.8T Quattro Manual.
I chose the latter, and I couldn't be happier. She drives like I couldn't believe.
At 172k miles I'm currently doing a head rebuild, replacing the valves due to a busted timing belt. She came away virtually unscathed, aside from about 16 bent valves. It was actually a blessing in disguise, as I noticed a whole bunch of things that needed attention, such as clogged coolent lines, a completly cracked turbo housing (and I mean CRACKED from end to end), a cracked exhaust manifold, throttle wire on the brink of snaping, a gunked to the point of failing cat converter, a brittle crank case ventalation elbow (plastic) so brittle, it nearly crumbled to a mildly firm touch, a literal break in DV vacuum line (I guess my turbo was so quiet I didn't hear it winding down from the leak)
All this and I only ever got a CEL for a random cylinder misfire, which would then lead to the complete failure of CP I ended up replacing in Cylinder 1. haha even after all this work (i'm still working on it) I still love my audi, and can't wait to get her up and running again so I can love her more.

By the way, Hi guys

Default 2003 Audi a4

1. I love my audi, I purchased it in july of 2011, I bought it because I previously owned a vw jetta tdi and loved that so I decided to go euro. I decided to buy it because the person I bought it from had o.c.d. so there was not a single scratch on it. He also had tires with under 1000 miles on it, new after market rims, new serp. belt, new water pump, and new timing belt all done at 100,000. My other choice of car was a 24 valve cummins which I didn't quite have enough money to get the one I liked. Overall I am quite happy with my purchase but still want a truck

I just bought a 2001 A4 Quattro earlier this week. Needs a little work but for $3K it turned out to be pretty nice. way better than anything else i looked at. I had to put 2 new o2 sensors in it, it needs 2 gaskets and a new oil pan. Someone tried to epoxy it (dummy) and has a small seep. Bought it from a dealership for $3700 out the door, with new tires and alignment, and a warranty that covered every component in the engine and transmission. Never owned a turbo before, and hearing it spool just makes me smile everytime i drive the car. the smile effect is why i bought the car. May eventually change the motor out for one with lower mileage, but right now it has no sludge problems, if it aint broke dont fix it right. right now its my A to B vehicle (I live 3 miles from work) but will probably become my project down the road.

Do you like your new audi?
Love, feels good to have a manual again, automatics bore me.

How long have you owned it?
a week

Why did you decide to buy one?
The cars has high miles 150+, but when i test drove it blew me away. blast to drive, quick, excellent fuel economy, and its an Audi.

Was there another vehicle you were thinking about before you bought the audi?
I looked at probably every manufacture, audi still held value and given the right attention and proper maitenance she will last awhile. i test drove 30+ vehicles, and this is the only one, that minus the small issues, i felt safe/comfortable driving.

I love my Audi, it is my first one, but I have always admired them.

I have had it for about 2 months now... but have many issues I need to get fixed here and there and am hoping I can get a little guidance on here. First site I have joined.

With all it's little quirks - 188k+ miles, so many lights to clear, a slightly strange smell, and I have nicknamed it Cricket due to a clicky sound that is only there when I accelorate (NO NOT TURBO NOISE lol) Once all of those are fixed I will be in heaven! Black on Black - straight body, everything INSIDE the car works, no rips no tears no stains.... and as stated before.... come on... it's an AUDI I got it for a decent price and ready to put work into it here and there!
