New A4 owners check in
Do you like your new audi? I think its great but i had alot of problems to begin with
there was bolts (not from my car) inside the cylinders which one got stuck in a valve and others scratched the top of my piston heads.
How long have you owned it? since march 2011
Why did you decide to buy one? the power, looks, modding potential & it was at a bargain.
Was there another vehicle you were thinking about before you bought the audi? not really was looking for an A4 just wasnt sure what one
btw car is still running after everything its been through, although i do have a rattle which i believe is coming for the CAT Converter but not 100% sure. The rattle only comes after taking my foot off the accelerator anyone know why this might be?

New to Audi, seasoned forum user and "driver". Love autocrossing and ice cross. I'm also a member of the CWSCC here in Wisconsin.
Little background...
Have always loved domestic (i.e. Ford mainly) and after owning nothing but Ford product my whole life, two weeks ago, I traded my Lincoln LS V8 straight for this beautiful B5 2.8 5 speed. When I was looking for a new car, I decided I wanted 4 things, MPG, AWD, stick, and something I can mod. So after looking at Sub's and Mitsu's and talking with some buddies who've owned both, I decided to go German. I got lucky and found this in mintish condish with only 106,000 miles on it. I could go on and on about why I chose this car, but bottom line is after owning it only 2 weeks, I'm in love

I am loving my new audi. But i have always loved audi vw and other euro cars.
I have had mine for about 6 months now.
I went with the a4 because i had a couple of mk3 gti's that were awsome cars, do a lot of work myself especialy on that basic gti platform. Wanted to get into something a little bit more challenging that i knew i could still handle. So i have a 2000 a4 avant 1.8turbo quattro 5speed. Like i said i love this car and every clever little thing about it. And i grew up loving anything with an engine, last but not least i crashed a 2005 audi a3 2.0t 6spd into the start of an interstate gaurd rail at 75 mph pretty much head on. The big square part with the reflective stripes. Destroyed everything that the car ever was, broke the engine and trans in two, pretty much took everything from the windsheild up and ripped it all off, smashed the driver side in so that the driver seat was almost half the width it used to be. And i amazingly walked away with only one broken rib and minor cuts from flying debris. After that second chance on life granted to me by god and the untouchable german engeneering of that car, i knew that i had to have one. ( was a company car, accident caused by a faulty tire mounting job performed by a shop that i made sure no longer exsits, the tire flew off the rim after hitting a very small pothole..)

This is more a new to the forum check in than new to my A4.
1. Love it! AWD. Turbo. Not terribly bad to work on...just expensive but its an AUDI.
2. About a year and a half....halfway paid off!
3. Was looking to trade in my breaking down '95 Dakota for something else I could use in the brutal MN winters, anything AWD....found the A4 for the right price in great condition with 173,000 miles, went and looked at it, loved the ride and feel of the car....and then i saw seat warmers and was sold!
4. Anything AWD or 4WD, cars or light trucks, and priced right.

i have a 1996 audi a4 b5 2.8 quattro. I had this strange clicking noise coming from the front of the car when i park or when i press on the brakes while slowing down at low speeds. Now I installed a new control arm kit and new front left and right axels assembies. I thought that would fix the problem but guess what it hasn't. I was wondering if someone has had the same experience as me. I hope to hear from someone. Thanks!
Do you like your new audi? Yes, but I have a long list of (expensive) things to repair. The seller was intentionally mum about all the problems, and the owner before him apparently never fixed anything. It wasn't a bargain.
How long have you owned it? Since the first of June, 2011
Why did you decide to buy one? Wanted something upscale and this seemed to fill-the-bill. And I like German cars.
Was there another vehicle you were thinking about before you bought the audi? Yes, a Toyota Avalon, or a Volvo, but these don't compare well to the Audi.
