If you put in an MBC without a chip I wouldn't raise boost more than a pound or two. You don't want to mess with higher boost without the appropriate programmed adjustments to timing and fuel trim. To an extent the car can compensate but is saving $150 on the cost of a SpeedTuning chip and $75 for a TT225 DV really worth risking the engine?

When it comes to these cars, do it right or your wallet will be crying. Check the new owner sticky posts up top and you'll find a wealth of information about modding your car correctly and safely.

You don't need a MBC with a chip bro. Avoid it completely.

Doesn't a chip up the boost anyway, along with optimum timing and fuel? I know that an N75 can give you a couple more pounds of boost, but I'm not sure if it's wise to get chipped first.
