Other maintance to do with CCT?
I am pretty positive I have a bad CCT, I posted awhile ago and someone mentioned that it could be the CCT. (I get a chatter type sound when letting off the gas and when driving the car at around 2k rpm's it sounds like a diesel.) IT doesn't tick very much idle though. I've kinda been saving every paycheck I've gotten for a few weeks..
I can't do the cct myself (not much of a mechanic) but I just did a coolant flange and temperature sender with a friend but he doesn't have much experience with european engines and I don't want my car sitting half an hour away overnight if something goes wrong. My oil temp doesn't seem to be working right though, it never gets to the middle of the gauge. I might add that even in the summer though it never hit the middle, almost always about a tick or two under half but now it doesn't even go past the second tick mark from 150f. Coolant does sometimes though. Heat is always hot though after 5minutes of driving. I might try to change the thermostat.
I think a CCT replacement pretty much means replace the valve cover gasket correct because you are taking off the valve cover gasket anyway? Is there anything else I should think about replacing while my mechanic is down there? I haven't asked how much this costs but I figure its a 2-3hour job and the part is $208 on ecstuning. Should I expect 2-3hours for valve cover and the CCT?
I am thinking about also getting a new battery, car with key on accessory reads slightly above 12volts (VERY slightly) but when the car is turned on it always reads above 14volts, nearly 15.5volts? Also cold morning it takes a extra click it sounds like. Hard to explain i don't need to ever re crank the key..just imagine it taking a extra half second to second to start then normal. I checked out the battery awhile ago and from what I remembered it wasn't a interstate, some national chain brand or a optima.. looked like some weird euro brand that looked OLD.

Cct they replace cct, valve cover gasket, and cct gasket. I believe there is the option to do intake and/or exhaust cam seal while your in there. All the other things you mentioned arent related to this and can be done another time. Im also confused, maybe your wordings doing it. it looks like you want to change your thermostat because your oil temp doesnt reach half O-o? You would do that if your coolant temp doesnt reach half not your oil. Which shouldnt reach half, atleast my car oil temp only reaches like 1/3 or 1/4.
Make sure to get a quality cct, the after market once suck, I've seen people putting it in and it would sease and they had to take timing belt of because the chain would be too tight.... God forbid this thing snapping on you, there will be allot of damage....
