Over Heating 1.8t

New tstat is in no leak. The coolant/water heated to a boil just idling in the shop. Gauge is accurate. We are thinking its a gasket to a water jacket because its heating so fast

your coolant or oil will tell you this if you check it.... you will be loosing coolant into the oil so the oil will show it by being milky and you will be loosing coolant.

oil is golden as fresh or golden as milky? your hg is bad

I don't believe I am losing coolant, oil is golden. I will investigate tomorrow though

You won't get fluid mixing if it's as the OP mentioned, with a cylinder leaking directly into a water jacket. Have you tried letting the car heat up and then turn it off and feel the radiator in different spots? If you find a cool spot it indicates a radiator blockage.

I see your in Baltimore. where at? i live a little outside baltimore i can lend a hand, a hg isn't that easy of a job if its your first time.

I'm in cockeysville/reisterstown. I don't have the Audi Tech convinced it is a Hg yet. He is going to run fancy tests this afternoon. But if it comes to a hg I would love some assistance

You usually don't need fancy tests to tell if its a hg lol, but I'm really close 30 min away from you, i can lend a hand or just do it for you. let me know what he says, i can also give you a second opinion pm me your number I'm in the area all day today
