Default power windows

My power windows stopped working one morning. I checked the fuses in the fuse box inside the car and seem to OK. Is there another fuse box other than inside the car? Has anyone else had this problem, please reply?
Thanks

did it just stop? or is it making grinding noises?? i've had to replace all my window regulators in my 01 A4 two of the windows twice.....if its grinding take off the door panel and check to see if there is play in the cable that moves your window up and down...

if you are talking about the cable that moves the window up and down, then you need a new window regulator. check out www.egermanparts.com i've ordered all my regulators from them, two broke on me (after having them for 6 months) they sent me two more free of charge! i had to send them my old ones after i put the new ones in though for some kind of warrenty thing.

ive replaced 3 and yes, you have to replace the whole unit because they don't sell the individual parts, the stealership wants ur $$$ . it is a common problem with our cars.

Thanks

mine has done that before as well. you might have to reset your auto up/down switch. i dont know off hand how to do it, i think it involes something with the key in the door??? i know my windows will roll down if i put the key in the door and hold it to the right....

anyone know how to reset the window switch?

I know that if you disconnect the battery for some time the windows lose the one touch feature for a little bit. At first I was worried and rather pissed, but I rolled them up and down a few times each, and dealt with it for a day, and then they started working again. Not sure what it was that fixed it, but something did. Maybe rolling them all up and down (incl. sunroof), or maybe doing it multiple times on different starts. Im not sure, but something worked. I didn't do anything with the keys or anything, audi magic works in strange ways...[&:]

Good luck!
