I've gone through the Audi manual and was not able to find any information on this light (attached). Can anyone give any info on this, im thinking the obvious, brake pad sensor warning?

 

youare correct its the pad wear sensor

 

Thanks techbod. Any suggestions for what type of pads i should use. It's a 99 A4 1.8T.

 

I just bought Hawk ceramic street pads on the recommendation from the guys at ECS since I don't track my car but I do like to drive spiritedly, and it seemed stupid to buy OEM pads to use with a quasi-BBK. Ceramic pads also have about a tenth of the brake dust that regular pads create, and they've always had a stronger initial bite and better lifespan than normal pads in my experience. They were $94 for the front pads from ECS.

 

I'd suggest Mintex red
