Replacing the climate control
The screens on my climate control to not work - I can get a new one on ebay and was wondering if anyone knew how hard this was to do. Is it plug and play or is there wiring involved? Also wondering how difficult it was to replace the instrument cluster. If checking my ignition switch does not fix the problem that I am having I want to replace the cluster (also have missing pixels in the odometer and it's annoying).
Model 1996 Audi A4.

Here's a DIY for fixing your Climate control and removing it:
Audi D.I.Y. - A4 - Climate Control Head Unit Fix (B5) - Audi Forum - Audi Forums for the A4, S4, TT, A3, A6 and more!
Now, as for your cluster-replacing it is pretty simple....if you get a different cluster, your mileage will NOT match anymore. You can NOT change the mileage on a cluster, ONLY a dealer can and they generally will NOT do it.

Climate controls for a 96 are very specific. You have to use exactly the same model number that's in the car, I went thru about 3 different model numbers because people said they fit 96 to 98 A4's. They don't. I think the last letter in the part number is an H and that's the only one that will work.
