shifting hard? late?

Default shifting hard? late?

I have a b5 a4 1.8t auto. The first start of the day the car shifts hard. or revs to about 5 and 1/2 thousand, which seems quite high weh nim not trying to race or anything? any info helps.

How many miles on the car? Sounds like you might need to do a transmission fluid flush. Mine does the same thing from a cold start.

If that's the case, there's a kit from blauparts.com and you'll need to use Vag-com.

Some argue that changing tranny fluid on a high-mileage car is dangerous, so research first.

It has about 68,500. the transmission fluid was flushed within a few months by the audi dealer. I think it might be leaking. not sure why I didn't put this in my original question. good to know that yours does it also. Im not too woried about it. do you know of any problems it could cause?

sorry I meant 168,500. Thats a bit of a difference.
