the key to taking a corner in snow is smooth steering and minamal weight transitions during the corner simple. but u can go faster in the snow key is not just watching the road but looking at the refletion on the powerlines and snow for headlights. Then u can cut multiple corners in a row.

as for drifting the easiest way to control it in the quattro is throttle modulation. more gas to oversteer and then back off to understeer. i was out driving last night through a section locally with a few complex corners with out issue. The key is just to practice it pull the e-brake near the corner exit and step on the gas and counterstear or practice j-turns on a one lane road then then try feint manuver on the apraoch to it. also find a empty car lot and try some four wheel figure eight drifts around 2 points like concrete blocks or multiple corners

I'm new to snow, and new to Quattro, but I like to have fun as much as the next person... So for me, the fun comes from Drifting etc at slow speeds in car parks or other open spaces, when no one is around..... I love the way the Quattro handles on the snow. Drifting and doughnutting put such a big smile on my face......

When it comes to driving on the road I'm just sensible. I have no need to impress anyone. No need to take risk's. Have your fun when its safe. Be responsible when your supposed to be..... Enjoy the Quattro when its safe to do so........

When on public roads, I too feel no need to take unnecessary risks and impress people, I don't have the money to afford tickets, insurance hikes, repairs to mine and or other cars etc.

But I'm all about the parking lots. We just barely had the first real good snow here (surprising for being Utah) that has given me an opportunity to test out the Quattro and last night I found a parking lot on a side street with a low likeliness of fuzz trouble and gave things a test. I figured it'd be a public service for me to figure out the breaking points of my car when sliding/out of control so in the event of such happening while on the road, I would be able to pull out of a slide before hitting anyone else and it did in fact put a big grin on my face. Had a blast with it. Wish I had had a friend there to take pics of all the snow flying from all four corners of the car hehe.

Needless to say, I was indeed impressed with how easy it was to regain control after being in a slide. I got it laid out going completely perpendicular to my line of motion at times and all I did was upshift and came to a halt almost instantly. Donuts were fun too haha.

the other day i was goin about 45mph on a straight-away with mostly ice (i think the spd limit was 35) and i could feel the back end wanting to come out so i had to slow down to the spd limit. but i have cheap all-season tires, yet i have no trouble going, [quattro is the best] the thing i have the most trouble with is braking and turning... anyways im gonna go get sideways for a lil bit...
