Awesome deal man! That'll be a fun project for sure. If you're interested, I've got my old '96-'97 tails still sitting around, at least they'd look better than those Altezzas!

By the way, my good buddy has a hydraulic press for your synchros.

Once I get my z tranny in, I can help you drop the tranny one day.

Anyway, you have the same seats/interior as mine, I love my interior, so sweet! The seats really hug you nicely, needed for the way I drive.

Now if you can just keep the interior clean for more than a day!

Hey nice to see you being active on the forums! Thanks. Come over tomorrow or Weds. to check it out!
Thanks for the heads up on the press, but Im trying to get this done within 2 weeks or so.... At least the tranny part...
I am so loving the sport cloth seats man... Always loved em in yours. They cleaned up really nice too. Super shape considering the age/mileage. I'll take advantage of your help whenver I need/can get it!
The interior is FTW! I was never really in love with the all gray in my other A4 anyways.

Thanks for th offer! I'll keep it in mind for later. As ugly as they are, they are low on the to do list.

First things first!

Want to be ready to start the MF-er eventually, and every now and then until it's rolling. Also want to be sure that the plugs don't break inside the engine once it's done! I'm getting ready to order timing belt parts. I'm just not sure if I should get the whole kit or not. I'm thinking I might just go with the belt, tensioner, and damper. There is much to be done on a restricted buget.
Not sure if you guys have ever seen what a battery and a box of plugs look like.... If not, today is your lucky day...

Thanks man. I'm more excited about the interior myself. There are a handful of exterior flaws that don't show up in the pics. Maybe someday it will get body work/paint. For now, it's good nuff.

Check this out... Is it wrong of me to be loving this picture? The spark plug wells are totally flooded with oil. I'm at a total loss as to how this did not cause misfires, let alone run at all... I'm going to try to find valve cover/well gaskets locally today. I've never seen such a mess

That middle gasket must be totally messed up. As for the TB, i would just remove the stock and if it had a metal pump, then you can decide what all you need. Are you going to do a compression test after you do the vc gasket? It would be a good idea to not do the tb until you find out if you need new rings or more to the engine.

Yeah there are pieces missing from the middle gasket
What do you mean "remove the stock" and what "metal pump"??
I need to get a compression tester, but it is on the list after the car is able to move/tranny is fixed. The oil dipstick tube doesnt seal. That won't affect compression will it? For now it runs fine and there is no smoke, sputter, etc.
Yes I will do a compression test before I do the TB along with an oil pressure test..
