Other than a chip, but even then you're looking at 4-500 bucks, plus a new DV...

Most of the info has already been stated. Pull the cat out with DP attached through the top. Just be patient and remove the RF axle shield if necessary.

I also run the Labree HFC. It makes a 30-40 hp difference over a clogged cat!

Just as a note, my 2001 AWM throws P0420 (cat below efficiency) with my Labree HFC, borla down-pipe and exhaust, and Upsolute chip. I used 2 spark plug non-foulers for the secondary O2 sensor to get the MIL to stay off. As far as I know, this is not uncommon, but it will still pass OBD2 tests and sniff test with this setup.

Ya i think anything would be a 30-40 hp upgrade compared to how its running now. So by using the spark plug non foulers you dont have a check engine light on or you still do? Are you happy with labrees hfc? When i talked to them on the phone they said the front o2 sensor is screws in farther out to prevent it from throwing a check engine light.

Couldn't be happier with Labree if they cooked me breakfast. I have a new down pipe awaiting a warm day so I can install it along with my clutch. The code I get is P0420, bank 1 cat below efficiency. In over words, my rear O2 sensor sees the mix as full of unclean air and thinks the cat is bad. Two non foulers on the rear O2 sensor (just like a test pipe) eliminates the code. Difference is, I can pass visual I emissions, I can pass a sniff test, ands I have the power benefits of a 2.5" test pipe. The P0420 code seems to be more of an AWM issue, but it could also be my rich-tuned Upsolute chip.

That makes sense. I take it you got the LBGT3 HFC? I taslked to the owner (Brett?) about that one and the LBGT6. The diffrence is more material in the cat. He said both are about the same when it comes to hp gains. The LBGT6 is a little more expensive and it will not throw a CEL. I ordered it from him yesterday. He even got it in the mail yeaterday! I should have it by thursday. Ill post up pics and what not once i get it and let you know what i think. Thanks for the information guys!

The Labrees are good people. But as for GT3...? I dunno. It was a couple of years ago. I would assume it's a less dense monolith. I could see right through it and it's very small. Either way, I passed emissions with it.
