is there a common problem with the tranny brackets breaking? it's the piece in between the tranny and the mount

this bracket is broken on both side of the tranny, what gives mate?

 

It's the first I've heard of it in over 4 1/2 years wrenching on these cars. That's not a thin piece either - seems like it'd be tough to break one of those.

 

Takes plenty of force to break those brackets. Did you check to see if any of your mounts are bad and caused too much play in the driveline?

I broke all of mine, but it happened when I wrecked my car. I know of another person that broke his but not sure why his broke. The brackets are not cheap either. I have a used 2.8 bracket for the driverside.
