Default Turbo upgrade

Hey guys, I was just wondering would i be able to buy the T3/T4 turbo kit off ebay for my 1.8t 1999 A4 and not have to have the car chipped? I use to have a d16y8 civic that i put the exact same kit on and upped the fuel pressure and it ran 100% fine as a daily driver so i am curious if i could do the same thing to the Audi, because frankly I am sick of how slow it is :/

The FAQ sticky post at the top of the page will answer all this and more, and will guide you to the right questions. But know right now that with tuning questions, the similarities between a Civic and an A4 end with the fact that they both have four wheels, an engine, and people can fit inside.

Cant do that on an A4. If you up the fuel pressure the ECU wil go crazy trying to pull the fueling back during idle/PT. You would also not get enough fuel flowing thru the injectors for a T3/T4 pushing enough air. Plus the adv timing map would be all wrong for a turbo that spools up much later then the k03. This is why tuners offer different type of tunes for different size turbos when used on the 1.8t.
