I hear the GTX series from Garrett packs a nice punch. From what I understand, they incorporate the new "dual boost" technology. They have a better map than Garrett's older turbines.

Just get a chipped ECU first. I know a member on here who's selling one that bumps factory boost to the max for $450

Hahaha $450 for a used chip, it's not 2005 anymore. I got a brand new giac flash for $220 during a summer sale. Anything more than $300 is a rip.
Anyways, Garrett turbos (especially the 3071 and 2871) are popular for mid power (above 300whp, not sure of exact). A properly tuned frankenturbo can get you up to 290whp. Anything above those ranges you should to talk to mike at ringer racing

I can't seem to find the exact listing, but this is a similar sale from the same "Induktion Motorsports" I got mine from:

I'm sure a winter or spring sale will pop up soon, I believe I got it on vwvortex

They're still listing mine for $500 (thanks for the link though).

Focus on your cooling system and getting it chipped, bigger turbos without enhanced cooling isn't a great idea.

Be glad your tunes are so cheap(even at $500).
