Default Two coolant temp sensors?

My gauge flings to the middle on "key forward" and rises to full right and the dummy light comes on, but through the OBD I read 180*. I'm assuming there is a CTS for the ecm and another for the gauge.

No, the ECU reads the sensors and drives the cluster directly. There are two sensors though. One is on the engine (for the gauge, fueling mixture, etc), and one is in the side of the radiator (for climate control, etc).

So if the temp is reading correctly through the OBD then its a gauge problem?

I won't be able to tear into the dash where I am at the moment, but the flashing temp dummy light is driving me nuts.

Is there any way to disable it?

It must be the sensor. I scanned 113* coolant temp in the morning at 12*. The warmer it gets, the more accurate it reads. I don't know why I didn't think to check it cold earlier.

wait....yea I do.....cough
