Haha!

Sorry about your tranny, Mike. I think it's time you and your crew created a new one to handle your beast machine...

Then sell it to Audi

I was going anyway, just had to find a safe place to put my car. Ended up putting it in a friends shop that he will be opening up in 1-2 months.

I was just at the track racing 2 weeks ago for the same event but at Fontana. I needed to got to the races to figure out if I had fixed my misfire issue, going to the races is cheaper then spending time on a dyno. Well unless you break something. lol

Audi has a stronger one, that is the 01E but it is geared for something with a larger displacement and way more low end tq. The B6 S4 6 speed is also stronger but not cheap and wasn't meant to go into a B5 so a different drive shaft has to be used. I need to find out why this one let go, might have to see if CM will make a custom sprung hub sintered iron disk or end up having to run the smallest jet for my flow control valve.

Even after blowing up the transmission I was just happy to finally have the misfire issue fixed.

Preface: I've been running a blow-through MAF setup for 2-3 months now with the stock MAF in a 3in OD (2.75in ID) housing, with a catch can setup and custom cold-side intercooler piping.

This morning around 3:30am as I was driving back from my GF's place I got frisky with the throttle getting onto the freeway. As the boost increased there was a sharp pop and a harsh jerking of the car. The feeling is not unlike a bad misfire.

As I was driving I noticed there was no boost when getting on the throttle. Pushing in the clutch resulted in normal vacuum (21 in Hg for me), but still no boost. Driving back I was pondering in my mind what the issue could be.

I came to the conclusion an intercooler hose must have popped off, and based on my particular setup guessed that it was the pipe connector that connects to the inlet of the MAF housing. Upon arrival at my apartment my guess was verified! But this meant I completed most of my drive with my car acting as a naturally aspirated 1.8 without an air filter

With my wideband gauge I knew that the engine was still running like it should have been, around the stoichiometric air/fuel ratio of 14.7:1. SO: in this case the blow-through MAF setup saved me a HUGE headache because all air entering the engine was still metered Had my MAF been at the filter when the intercooler pipe popped off (this has happened to me a couple times before...) I would have been semi-stranded at 3:30am.

This is crazy, you are lucky nothing fell into that otherwise it would have sucked a lot more. Makes you realize how important it is to tighten **** down when you put car back together. I for one will go home today and make sure everything is clamped and secure..

On that run the car pulled a 1.567 60 ft time which is the best 60 ft time I have had with this transmission and with the Flow Control Valve, 330 time was 4.692 which not far off my 4.502 when I ran the 10.55. Just sucks that the transmission had to let go during the run.
I was under the impression that your beastmode b5 had some other transmission in it other than the stock one. You are telling me all that HP under the hood of your car is being shifted through stock 5speed? Crazy ****. Good looks for Audi for putting a tranny in a car that can handle 500 hp even though the stock hp is ~170. I never knew the little 5speed could handle all that power.

Well they can handle the power as long as you keep the torque shock down when shifting into 3rd gear.

I did a lot today:

Covered fog lights with yellow vinyl film, make sit more yellow and look nice in the day time.
Put an ecstuning sticker on my window :-)
Fixed my window regulator after many months of not being able to open/close my window
Painted lug nut covers black.

Plans for the near future:
Fix my wheel bearing
Fix my damn bumper for once
Make my tint even darker (15%) >

Plans for distant future:
LOWWW Get some springs or coil overs
Some BBS rims

Heh all my stuff is clamped so tight I slightly deform the T-bolt clamps being used. The issue here is no lip on the MAF for the clamp to catch onto, and there was 25psi trying to force that silicone connector off . It took 2+ months for that silicone connector to finally works its way loose.
