What did you do to your B5 today?
Thanks! I'm going to shave off as much of the bullshit as I can without compromising the structural integrity of the thing. As for a finish, I honestly don't know yet. Originally I wanted to polish it, but I'm lazy so that probably won't happen lol. I think I'll probably end up having it painted or powder coated. I'm thinking blue

Sniffles ummmm yeah I meant the paint job lol
Sold it
Not sure how I feel about that. The headache of fixing something every 2 months is gone, but I'm gonna miss it
Excuse me while I ***** it a bit because it's been awhile. Full album in link:

Good question. Probably a 2010 Mazda3 S hatchback.
I've test driven a 2013 Focus ST which was stupid quick compared to my B5...stupid quick. Decent power down low and lots of power in boost. I've never really driven a turbo car so the experience was awesome. I didn't like the sound amplifier at all, though. It goes from quiet cruising to obnoxiously loud as soon as you enter boost right before where I would normally shift. With the touch screen, recaro seats, and reflector headlights, it was a bit pricey for the quality IMO.
I've also tested a 2012 Mazdaspeed3 with 7,350 miles, a "Custom" brand exhaust, intake, and HKS BOV (so funny to hear), so it was probably driven hard. Lots of drone and has the typical "young kid/WRX STi vibe to it. It has more HP and TQ than the ST, but the power is more present all the time and didn't feel as stupid quick, but could easily get over 300chp with less than $1,000 invested. The salesman pulled out all the weasel cards to get me to agree to their $21,450 listing plus $1,500 to get me out the door. After 10 minutes of him stepping to the back office to haggle me to their price, I turned to leave and he stopped me again with his boss accompanying him for the second time. I sorta told him off in front of his boss, his boss's boss, their coworkers, and the receptionist, turned around and walked out. As I got into my car, the lady with final say ran out to offer me $19,999 plus fees and tax. I'm expecting a call or email tomorrow.
Both were fun and I could get used to 260hp, but they're honestly a bit much and unless I were being "foolish" or at a track, I wouldn't need or even use all the power they have, the speed limit isn't high enough to get to 3rd legally when you're on it. As a recent graduate, it makes more sense to get better mpg right now
(at least that's how I'm going to rationalize it to myself for now). Going fast is fun, but... paying for my own gas, insurance, maintenance, etc. will not be as fun
I'll probably go with the Mazda 3 S hatch which isn't quick by any means but will keep me out of trouble and feels good on the road. Might need a deeper exhaust note, but it has everything I want at a cheaper price with a 6 year, 100,000 mile warranty on everything but maintenance. The MS3 has 1.5 years left on its warranty. Prices for these 3 are at book value or just below.
I've spent considerable time researching and looking. I don't want the headache of another Audi just yet. Jeremy can vouch for the trouble mine has been. The full list has consisted of:
B5 S4
B6 A4 avant
B7 A4 avant
BMW 335i sedan (I wish)
GTI
Golf R
Acura TSX
Acura TL (2008/09)
Ford Fusion
Focus Titanium hatch
Focus ST
Mazdaspeed 3
Mazda 3 S hatch
Aston Martin Vantage V12

the LCD screen or the steering wheel gauge pod? Either way, looks good!
Thought my car ate another MAF sensor but turns out the TIP popped off the compressor inlet. No big deal
