Window help

Default Window help

Just bout an 01 a4 had for three days and now the windows are going haywire the back ones quit workin all together and the passenger front is fine and the drivers side well its crazy it will go up sumtimes but then it rolls itsself back down new to the cars have no clue where to start ne help is much appreciated thanx

i believe the drivers side there are clips that if they are broken the window will roll back down so you don't damage the motor when they are broke or if like your hand is out the window and you try to roll it up, so it doesn't just crush your hand. someone correct me if im wrong. i have no idea what the deal is when the back windows, haha alll of my windows quit working so im having an issue with mine as well.

Well a common problem in these cars is the window regulator. I've had to replace two since I got my car.

well when i try to roll the back ones either way up or down it makes a real nasty noise like theres sumthin goin on back there ive checked the wiring in the door jam it looks to be in good shape but like i said im new with the car i sold my sr20 240 and jumped into audis

Good move. Once you get the kinks worked out, you'll be happy that you have a better-built car.

I concur with compmanben; window regulators can be a source of pain in these cars. Try cleaning the seals up with compressed air and silicone/ rubber lube. If that doesn't work, you'll have to pull the inner panel, which is not hard at all.

i already love the car i mean it runs perfectly and the first time i took it down the curvey backroads down here in southeastern ky and it didnt try and slide out from under me in every curve like the 240 did which it was built to do that lol...but yeah i love the car just wish i could get a lil wind in my hair LOL...ill look into these things i appreciate the help guys
