Question B6 2002 RIGHT HEADLIGHT DOESN'T WORK & a "DIPPED" DASH ERROR. WANT TO GET HIDS!

Hello!

just got my 2002 A4 3.0 Quattro 6 speed manual. The car doesnt have HIDs. The right headlight low beam bulb doesnt work. I get a "righ dipped headlight" error in the dash.

I was thinking on getting a replacement H7 bulb (correct me if that is not the right one) but instead I want to get HID s! I can see millions of kits on ebay for about $60, I have gotten several of those in the past to install in hondas/toyotas... pretty straight forward installation.

Is the installation the same on a B6? when I went to check the back of the headlight for a quick view, I had no easy access to the bulb, pretty different than other ones I've seen.

Is it true that if I install HID lights I would get an error message (another one...) in the dash?

Don't buy the ones from E-bay. Check out DDM for some HID stock look, I like the way they look on our cars. I got the stock ones that came with my car. I believe our number is D1S or something like that, I might be wrong.

the right dipped error is becuase the bulb dosent work. As dan said check ddm for the hid kits. Its vitrually plug and play to stock. U just need to find a spot to mount the ballast for the hids. Most people like to mount it underneath the housing as their is a spot for it. U will also need to drill a hole in the rear cover for the main bulb for the wires to go through. IT seems hard but in all seriousness should only take about 20 minutes tops. If u need any more input lemme know.

thanks for your help, today I removed the headlight to change the h7 bulb and saw for myself how everything is back there, so I got the idea and now I know how to install them. I don't have the dash error anymore!

I replaced the license plates with some whiter ones (NO leds, just a blue coated reg bulb) and now they don't turn on. Switched those with the factory ones and they don't work either... does anybody know what happened??

like stated on the other thread check those tabs to make sure the are making proper connection. MIght want to scrape the connections to ensure u get a good flow of current. IF u do go the led route get autolumination bulbs no flickering or codes.

HID Kit, HID Conversion Kit, HID Headlight Kit for Cars & Trucks at HIDNation.com

If you have auto on lights you need the relays, plus you need the CANBUS cancellers.

Theyre really affordable too
