I have the clunking during acceleration... I haven't done a visual yet, but by virtue of the fact I feel/hear the clunking, will it be obvious?

 

You can usually tell which one is bad by looking at it because the boots will be broken.

 

i have the same problem with my a4 it started like yours did but know it even does it when im in neutral is it the cv joint or boots.....i looked at them to do but the boots where all fine..... it does it when accelerating and when coasting in gear help what should i do??
