Default Grill Removal - HELP

03 B6

The previous owner painting the Upper, Lower, and Fog grill inserts red to match the car. Ugly... I am happy its going to warm this weekend here in the NE.

I think I figured out how to remove the upper grill... there are six push clips going along the sides and top. So I push those in, but how do I get the bottom out? Do I just pull up once I get all the push clips in?

I think the bottoms are just pull outs right?

As promised in a previous thread I will post pics of my painting process...

Thanks to all for your help in advance.

You got it.... Just pull it out. Im not sure if its the same on yours as it was on mine but mine came out easier pulling it out from the bottom first... then the top. the upper grille is the same, it just has a lot more clips holding it up. Be VERY careful with the upper grille though as its ilkea 3 piece grille that will easily crack and/break

.hope that helps

For the upper, just pull straight out?

For the upper you are going to want to open your hood and with pliers move the clips off the hood of the car.. You will have to apply pressure to the grille so that the clips dont pop back in place. Start from one side, so for example, unclip the clips on the right side of the grille... and once you have have the grille unclipped and loose... the othe half will sort of pop out of place on its own. Just remember the upper girlle is the hardest and more fragile grille to take off. It WILL easily crack and the clips will also crack easily aswell. Just take your time in unclipping everything and you will be fine.

To put it back in just put the grill in its spot and make sure the clips dont break off... lead them in their spot with your pliers

I bought another set grille 1 month ago and painted them.
(8 times spray from light to heavy + 4 times coating)

Itz pretty easy to unhook the grille.

1. unclip side clip (start from one side) easier with a flat-screw driver
2. unclip all upper clip and follow all the way til the other end of side clip
3. take whole grille out.

there is no need to unclip the bottom clip.
