The guts of a Secondary Air Pump
So i took out my SAP that hasn't worked for a while now and tested it. Completely dead when hooked to 12v. No humming, not even a sign of life. So i thought, hmm maybe i can clean the motor and fix it up to work. LOL yeah right. I got the base cap off ok and probably could have epoxied it back on ok but the fan side wasn't budging. After seeing waht the motor leads looked like i knew it was toast anyway so i started hacking away at it and what i found was beyond my expectations.
The condensation dripping into the motor with no place to excape did a job on it. There really needs to be a weep hole in the duct or housing somewhere. I steel motor housing in a sealed unit at the bottom of a drip loop is a superb design Audi. Good job on that one. no wonder these things fail so often.
