Default Mind numbing problem

Here's the deal:

A few weeks ago my windows(all of them) started not working intermittently.
Then, about two weeks ago they stopped working altogether.

After i read online that the harness in the hinge of the door sometimes breaks, i pushed the rubber accordeon around and i heard my speakers go on! I hadn't noticed that my drivers side speakers were dead too!

I had a severed wire in the harness that plugs into the driver side A pillar. It was for the speaker. I soldered it back together and it now works... I put electric tape on the other cables to prevent them from breaking also.

However, the windows still don't work. And only the windows - and none of them. Lock/Unlock works from the door and from the FOB, dome lights are working properly, door sensors are working as well.

I suspected the Comfort Control Module, but that was nice and dry. I checked the cables all the way back to the A pillar and everything looked good (i took off the black tape wrap to inspect)

This morning, desperate, i passed by the shop to get a Code read. 16 failures, all related to bad connections or no response from various sensors in all of the door.
The tech tried to print, the computer crashed, and when he restarted the code read, there was no response whatsoever from the CMM. Though everything still worked as before - except for the windows.

I'd like to avoid brining this issue to the dealer, they tend to charge an arm and a leg for electrical repairs, and if i could just figure out what the problem is i'd order and replace any faulty modules myself.

Anyone had this before?

Oh and all my fuses are OK.

What could it be? Does anyone have a diagram showing how the windows work (CCM to each door or some sort of functioning logic). Do partial CCM failures happen?

Visually inspect the connections on your door, take the door card out and check in there, take the switch off and is probably time for a new one, replace the switch before replacing the CCM.

You need a Comfort Module........ You need to be sure no water got to it. I mean take the module apart.... the plastic covering and look at the circuit board

I did check the module, took it apart, its bone dry and in excellent condition.
I got my vag com today. The Steering wheel module is reporting an issue with speaking over the bus and the driver side convenience module is not working. Seems to be wiring, so everything points to the door.

Guess i'll take it to the stealership and get a new harness altogether....
