Mods for the A4 3.0 V6
Just a question, when you did your exhaust did you go with a high flow cat, at all or did you just leave it stock. I was just wondering for when i do my exhaust. If you didnt do you think it would be a waste of money to do it?
I just did mufflers and tips, no cat. forgot where you are located, but if in CA, you have smog to contend with at some point...
IF you change out your cat, consider what the cost is (I have no idea on this car), as the $$ may be better spent either doing or saving for the chip - which I am pleasantly surprised by the results
I'll see if I can find a 2.0T to "play" in the next couple days - they are all over the place out here. Although, they are "FSI" and I don't think my car is...
As far as changing out more under the car, the only thing I was considering was doing an "X-pipe" which would make it a bit louder, and possibly help HP by a couple - not sure if it's worth $100 though, as I think doing the SBoost may do the trick without my wife getting upset about the "loudness" of the car, after only having it a week

I'm going to get that chip also just got to find a couple of days to where I won't need to use my car so I can send it off to get done.
I really like the car now but I'm coming from owning a turbo 2 rx7 and kind of miss the power haha.
I will have to tell you, I know Quad was talking about how his GTO had massive power, what was the hp on that btw?, but I drove my mom's 2009 Challenger SRT8 tonight and when you punch it, that baby pushes you back in your seat.
gotta love 425hp =]
too bad my 3.0 won't go that fast =[

Hi,
My GTO had 550HP to the crank (how most manufacturers will rate their power = SRT8 at 425). My car had 440HP to the wheels, which is "after" drive train loss. I honestly would destroy SRT8s - had a couple runs on that "back country road" I mention ever so often, and by the time I'd hit 3rd gear, I'd be about a bus ahead. It was ridiculous, but then again, my car was obviously modified.... sometimes I couldn't tell if cars were actually "racing" even though they would instigate it by revving at the light, and pulling off the line quickly - by the time I'd hit it, they looked like they had come to a stop.
I wish the Audi's had some top end - it seems to "stall" around 95mph (is there a speed governor? I think the chip may have removed it, but then again, the car doesn't have enough displacement to carry it well into the 3-digits...)
Best,
Quad

just imagine what the RS4 must be like! I read the reviews on edmunds, and there isn't one complain worth mentioning about the car, and I honestly like the S4 - can't believe how much more fun the RS must be! I WANT that rear deck lid CFiber spoiler!
right, usually you take 15% off to estimate how much wheel hp you have (that's what I've been told)
but that is the first car I have actually put the pedal to the floor and felt the massive hp, then again, that's the only car I've driven that has more than 350hp.
My dad has a bmw but idk what hp that had and I only got to drive it once, about 4 years ago
I don't doubt that 440hp GTO would kill the 6,000lb challenger lol I give the challenger, 350 whp, but still, it sure has a kick to it when the hemi kicks in =]
Since it's my mom's car it will remain all stock, she isn't into modding but still you get some looks and some major comments driving it lol
some rude like "Is that your daddy's car" like I got last night but oh well.
The RS4 must kick some A$$, read some of the reviews on it, sounds killer.

Hark,
The GTO has a crappy bottom end, so they had suggested 18-20% drivetrain loss.
Anyway, just ordered the SprintBooster from minimania. It comes from within the state, so should be here in a few days. Fortunately, they have a money back guarantee, so if it's all talk and no "go," it'll get returned the next day.
I'll report back...

Well, coming from someone that has owned their own big V8's and what not i can tell you the replacement for displacement is boost pressure and engine efficiency. If you want to see a car that would destroy your old GTO watch this modded B5 S4 go up a hill. Turn the volumn way up because i love this video
http://www.germancarblog.com/2006/09...imb-video.htmlRemember this is a 2.7 liter engine...
