When I was driving home the oil pressure light went on. By the time I got to my street the car stop working.

A mechanic had removed the oil pan and changed the oil pick up screen and cleaned the pan. After that it still wouldn't start.

Then he took off the cylinder head and noticed that all 8 exhaust valves were bent.

I brought the head to a machine shop and they said I needed a new head because the cam or a ball was shot.

Then I called a "Audi Specialist" who works on Audi and VW
He said that I should get a new (used) motor. Because there is probably more damage.

The mechanic has a engine from a VW Passat that had 113K miles on it. He wants to change my broken parts with his non broken parts, the head etc.

He wants me to pay $2500 for parts and labor.
$1200 for the engine and $1300 for labor.


What do you think before I get it done?
