Someone please tell me what is wrong with my car?
I've had my A4 for 18 months. It's a 2004 3.0 L V6 Quattro. Since then I've owned it I've put over four thousand dollars in repairs alone. I've had crack in two emmision lines, my AC compresser explode, one of my ingition coils went out, my passenger side window, the cable just shattered, those are just to name a few. I've heard that the B6 models were shitty, and that around 65,000-75,000 miles is when they start having problems, but not like this should they? I'm also due for my belt to be retimed. No one around where I live will go anywhere near my car, and I refuse to pay 2,500 dollars to get it retimed, but do I really have any other options? If anyone has any insight please let me know.
Window regulators, and ignition coil packs are normal on the B6, common on most german cars actually. As for the A/C compressor blowing up thats a bad set of luck there mate. You don't have much choice when it comes to the timing belt cost on the 3.0L, it just takes a long time to change out that belt. Your cat converters are gonna go out around the 100K mark as well which cost around $1,000 per cat and $800 installation, so if this sounds like its too much for you, sell the car before you bite the bullet.
