I am going to do a synthetic oil change on my new A4 B6. What kind of oil should I use? The local dealer reccomends 5-40. WHat brand? Was gonna try Mobil 1....

 

i use 5-30 im pretty sure. mobil 1

Most peopel use mobil 1 0/5w30, i've used mobil 1 0w30, it was alright, switched to royal purple, was better than mobil 1, now i only use motul

Why Ow-30 everything I have says 0w-40. In anycase I run only Mobil 1 0w-40 then again I get that and the filters for free through my employer. In anycase the Mobil is a good bet.

 

The dealer says 5w 40.... Should I go the Amsoil route?

 

Used to use 0w40 Mobil 1, now iget oil called ELF from my mechanic.

 

Today I went and bought the Castrol Syntec 5w 40 oil (5 qts.), Mobil1 oil filter #M1-301, NGK PRF6Q #6480 (according to Audi thats OEM), I also ordered a K&N air filter and a new switchblade key remote from www.originalkeyless.com. Awesome deal on the remote complete with programming instruction!
