Looks as if you man handled something to snap that sensor. If things are in the way I always disconnect them. Not sure how that happened but i am sorry. That is the best PCV out there and will never fail you. Take a fresh look at it and try to fix it and get it on. Then tackle the sensor. It should not be hard to repair.

yes I did get it in yesterday, by removing the nipple then inserting the hose, then installing the nipple with the 4 screws lose to allow the plate to tilt to get the nipple in. i was able to tape up the sensor, now i just need to be sure which one and part number to order in US to send here as the dealer will not help me at all since i have a gray market car....

if you know this sensor, or an exploded view showing the parts in this area that would be great. thanks for you help and advice.

I do not have a book or CD. Maybe someone can chime in on that sensor for you. Does the car run now?

Dont worry about the DV either as it is a piece of cake.

yes the car runs fine, however some back tape is holding the sensor connector and broken piece to the brass base, but i will use some silicon this weekend. borrowed some jack stands and a floor jack to put the front up to do the DV just hoping don't need something i don't have in the middle, like gaskets or o rings or special tools....thx

rick

ps. i ordered a VW/Audi thrust sensor as someone on Audizine said that is what its called and of course the VW dealer didn't have one and Audi wont sell me parts.

Nothing special but the DV needed. It May use Hex or Torx bolts though as I can't remember.

Here is a DIY on a GTI (SAME). Don't break the sensor clip. you seem to be rough on sensors. I did mine on car ramps as that is much less work than jack stands.

ooooo i almost did the same thing with that sensor.
then my cousin broke the holding clip off it trying to take it off to move it out of the way....AFTER i told him not to touch it...
tied it down with electrical tape, which is pretty lame, but its been working so far..

sorry to open this back up months later but i just had to share that...
