First Snow with my Audi A4
Well I do not have a Quattro (but have driven them) I have to say my FWD A4 2.0T gets through snow and ice here in Germany pretty good. We have just had a major snow storm here (shut down the airports) and I was out all weekend in blizzard like conditions. ESP light went off once climbing mountain roads (I live in the Taunus) but other than that no problems. I have Pirelli Snow Sport 210 tires that Audi put on. Excellent traction, I can imagine how fun a quattro could be in this stuff!
We have had some more snow and icy conditions since I posted last, and I am still learning the cars driving dynamics in different types of conditions. It drives great. Warmer slimy snow will definetly cause the quattro's traction control to kick on early, but that is to be expected. I take it easy, because I have noticed that the quattro works so well, that it tends to mask the road conditions underneath, making you think it is ok to go faster than you should. I was to tired to drive the other night, so my dad drove the car home in lousy conditions, and really enjoyed it. He said that it "drives like a dream". He also misses having a fun to drive stick shift. Dad gave the A4 a workout in all gears, once we got out of the awful conditions.
