Seemed to me I remember them needing both. Call and see what they say. If they do, maybe you can get a copy of the receipt from the credit card company if you paid with a card. But the dealer should have record that you paid. For some dumb reason, car repair receipts and invoices are one of the things I keep. With all the maintenance and huge number of repairs I had done to my Jetta, the nine year old car's file was huge by the time I got rid of it for the Audi. Good luck with the reimbursement.

Got my letter a few days ago. Made an appt with the Audi dealership. So I drive up there and drop my car off with no CEL on.

Now the tech comes back an hour later and says we will fix the intake motor. So I told him i had to go and pick up my son and would bring the car in for repair tomorrow. well I get in the car and the Check engine light is on! Drive home was fine and parked for a while at home and the CEL went off.

Now just came back from a short ride with a friend and the car was studdering bad when I tried to excelerate. Very strange!! So I get back to my street and the CEL comes on, blinks a few times, and then went off???!!!

Is this the intake motor or what, the car has been driving great until I took it to the dealer...

PLEASE HELP!!!

I believe that if your check engine light flashes it indicates a misfire in one of your cylinders, the fact that it goes off and comes back tells me that the misfire is intermittent, now what is causing it? well that can be a few things which I will not speculate, hook it up and scan it and see what you get...

My Jetta did something like that when the coil pack went bad. It was intermittent. It never did it at the dealer, so it was hard to diagnose. The coil packs on those VR6's were known to crack and moisture would short out the coils. If the car sat in very moist weather for 24 hours, it was almost certain the car would misfire. I had to resort to using a hairdryer on the coil pack a few times to get the car to stop misfiring.
