Default no power when accelerating/car vibrates

Hey, I own 2008 a4 quattro s-line with 170k miles on it (highway work commute). When i press the gas pedal too hard (over 2.5k rpm's) the car stalls and shakes/vibrates a little bit and does not go forward and the engine light starts flashing and either disappears or stays on until next day. It happens during all speeds. When i press the gas lightly and the gauge does not go past 2.2-2.4k rpm's the car runs fine. I just need help and any ideas where to start first. Thanks.

sounds like a misfire in one of the cylinders. A flashing CEL means misfire. Have you got the code read? if not, get it read by a shop or autozone or who ever is capable of reading audi codes. That will tell you more. I'd guess coil packs are causing this and I think there is a warranty for so many miles on those, give your dealer a call.

Default Little late now

I had the same thing. Found out it was the valve cover gasket leaking into the spark plug chamber and flooding the plug with oil. New set of plugs and a new gasket fixed the problem.

Very similar issue with a former 2007 Audi A4 that I had. Turned out to be a burnt valve...$$$$$$.
