Default OIL PUMP FAILURE - Preventative steps!

Ok so here is my first tecky thread

New B7 bought last week...2.0 tdi 143 bhp BLB 2338!
88k miles and about to fit timing belt kit and WPump

now concerned about future oil pump failure potential due to posts etc on this subject

I am looking to do my best to prevent future duplicate work and wrecking what is currently a good engine so:

a) Has anyone fitted an oil pressure gauge to try and spot loss of pressure before the warning light comes on?
b) Where is best source for a workshop manual - I guess CD disk?
c) When I change pump parts does this require any dismantling of timimg belt again
d) Pump change is all thro the sump pan yes?
e) Any proposals for good quality replacement pump and gear kits, plenty on ebay but I don't want chinese thanks!

Any other help greatful on this area... I am sure someone has pics and the whole story on this but I cannot find thread on my model

Thanks

Peter
