OK brake time
My kid just got a flashing brake light which didn't stay on but is a symptom of front pad replacement. So considering the 2007 has 52K miles on it I'm going to replace both the fronts and rears. We are also tired of the brake dust so it looks like we'll be buying the Akebono ceramic pads. I am assuming this would be the best all around pad for normal driving. Anyone have some history on these pads? I put a set of Wagner ceramic pads on our old Volvo and they are almost dustless. Unfortunately Wagner doesn't make them for Audi. Also does Akebono have rear attached anti squeal pads . Anyone have any squeal . Just asking.
Wow not one reply... I hope you did this by now.
FWIW, I mounted the Akebono Ceramic pads on my A4 Avant at 68K miles and love them. Extremely low dust, no squeal at all and good performance.
Did you end up replacing all 4 rotors also?

I did Akebono on the fronts and Wagner on the rears. Both were ceramic pads. I did not have to do rotors after all. All of them were way within spec . My kid put on over 1K miles since the pads were installed and you can hardly see any brake dust. When I did the job it took me longer to clean each wheel then it took to change the pads. All is needed is to run it through the car wash and the wheels look brand new. Considering we have 52K miles on the car this will be the last set of pads we'll install .
