Default Replacement lights inquiry

Hello all, bear with me as I am not an owner of an Audi (at the moment) but I am asking for my gf who currently owns a 2007 with the Xenons.

So, her car currently has about 150k on it, Runs like a champ, no issues whatsoever and it's really just a fantastic car. However, both of her front lights have these little "marker" bulbs (I'll call them) that are burnt out. Actually, it's the sockets themselves that have failed. And she has the annual inspection next month which will be video recorded per the new rules put in place regarding auto inspections. If this car fails because of these, it might as well be scrapped because it will be useless.

Apparently, these are very expensive to replace, (1100 dollars each!) is this correct? BB value on her car is in the 5500 dollar range and she does not want to get rid of it but sinking 2 grand into it for these little marker lights seems insane.

I am here looking for advice on possible fixes, alternatives, aftermarket replacements etc so any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Those are called "city" lights. I can't see what they would fail on inspection for those lights, but you all know the rules better. You do have to remove the front bumper to access. Really can't see it costing anywhere near that amount though. I bought the bulbs for about $5 for my car. Not sure about the sockets though.
