I'll try calling to subscribe tomorrow and see what happens. Perhaps they can shoot me a signal for test purposes. One thing; the mounting sled in the cab is different...it is plastic with no pre-drilled holes and it is the devil to get out of the sidewall! Thanks again, it was your write-up that convinced me to add the satellite rec'r. The D models, for nav seem to be quite rare and fetch around $250 or more. If you are patient they are around ebay for less. This one cost me $97.00. For some reason it seems that the ones that are pulled from VW's cost a bit less.
Glad it worked out!

I have a few questions regarding info displayed:

  1. In SAT mode, do you see Artist/Song on separate lines (i.e. will the Song show on the middle line in bold and the artist underneath), or does the song/artist scroll on a single line ?
  2. Currently, without the SAT receiver, my radio displays Artist/Song/Channel scrolling on the middle line in bold - once you installed the SAT receiver, did it affect the terrestrial radio display to show the song/artist split on separate lines?
  3. Do you have any pics showing the display in activated SAT mode, as well as in Radio?

Also, I've heard the unit will also work without the splitter, not sure if you've tried to see the difference.

Cheers !
I don't think I ever answered this properly, so here we go:

In SAT mode, do you see Artist/Song on separate lines (i.e. will the Song show on the middle line in bold and the artist underneath), or does the song/artist scroll on a single line ? Bolded: yes

Currently, without the SAT receiver, my radio displays Artist/Song/Channel scrolling on the middle line in bold - once you installed the SAT receiver, did it affect the terrestrial radio display to show the song/artist split on separate lines? Did not change AFAIK

Do you have any pics showing the display in activated SAT mode, as well as in Radio? No

Toasted, will p/n 8E0057593 work for a B7 as well? Europaparts.com only has the Q version of the number you mention in the beginning of this post. Other than that, they have 8E0057593 for 49.95. I've looked on ebay as well and typically they end with a letter, most aren't new and all are more than 50 bucks. What do you think?

Audi Sirius module 8E0-035-593 (notice no letter). I purchased from Europaparts.com for $49.95 : That is exactly the one I got. Now remember, I did this with the Symphony II+, as pictured in the begining of this thread. I don't know how it will work with other head units.

You make a good point. I had not noticed that my head unit is Audi Symphony, NOT Symphony II+ as yours is. Any suggestions as to where to look to see what Sirius unit would be compatible?

It is probably still compatable. If it's not, you're only out $50. I would take a look and see if your antenna wires are in the aft compartment first. If they are, give it a shot. If it works, post it up, if it doesn't work, post it up!

When looking for a satellite recr, you really need to be patient. The D suffix unit that will work with a nav car is hard to come by and seems to cost a bit more than the non-nav units. I paid a little less than $100 2 weeks ago, after watching ebay for a couple of weeks and I thought that I did well. I see that someone bought one on ebay today for $25.00!

Thanks for the write up. Took me about 20 minutes to setup. Also anyone with a 2006 you will NOT need the Audiovox XM XMSP Terk Single to Dual Antenna Input Splitter. I ordered it by accident. oh well

Ugh! Verified which unit would work, purchased the unit only to go to do the install and find NO PREWIRING contained in the cabinet. What a disappointment. Any thoughts Toasted?
