Just swapped out the battery on my son's 99 A6. Started back and then had a p1857 code, every time I would clear the code it would shut engine off. Then I went for a drive and now the tranny is in one gear, put the car in gear with a jerk, and will only stay in one gear. Do I need to disconnect the battery overnight to reset the tcu and ecu? I am also getting a miss fire on cly.3 (P103)


On a happy note: saw the thread on the cruise control module fix, resoldered the caps and now I have cruise! thanks Getting a new scanner that reads ABS codes, then going after my ABS light issue.

 

Car in FSM, will scanner clear code? Any other suggestions?
