Default Radar Detector + Tints

So I am getting my windows tinted next week (02 TT) with 15% pinnacle tint all around. I am interesting in getting a radar detecter (v1 probably) and i was wondering if the tint is going to disrupt the v1.

Any advice helps, thanks!

As long as your windshield like in a Audi A8 is not the thermal type (sucks for radar detectors) and your tint does not have metallic in the film you are good to go. I am in the radar detector andlaser jammer testing field and I highly recommend the V1. If you get the V1 get the hardwire kit plus concealed display.

Get your V1 directly from Valentine.

Screw trying to get a deal, do it right and support Valentine and that place will treat you right.

I live about 15 miles from them and any time I've ever had an issue, they've stepped right up and repaired the problem and always at NO COST.

I take my two units in about once a year just for a check up. Heat, vibration and general inside car life is rough on stuff and they will detune a tad over time. I hand the units over, they call me in a day or two.

You can't beat the service you'll get directly from Valentine, so be fair and get your unit there. (egad, sorry to be the poet in that last line...)

That being said (sorry, maybe a bit of a soap box?), from what I've seen among what are supposed to be the top of the line detectors - V1 & Escort SRX (SXR?), the V1 SMOKES the Escort. The only thing the Escort did better (because the V1 doesn't do it at all) was laser shifting.

Yup, agreed. V1 kicks ***, and get it through valentineone.com

Simply Amazing. I won't run tints on my ride because I go fast. I read on V1's site that any tint will reduce performance, especially laser.
