Hoping someone can help

I have a 2003 A4 B6 with standard Audi Chorus factory radio. The radio isn't able to hold a signal for very long. It lights up fine, but only holds a station for about 5 seconds before going quiet. If I push the menu button, and the search light comes on, the radio station will stay playing until the search function finishes, then quiet again. The CD player isnt working either.

Any ideas for a simple fix or should I take it to a shop?
