Hey, I can post again!

Hopefully, you have a slow leak. Not sure what state you live regarding the sale of refrigerant. You can buy it anywhere around here (PA). Before you add any check to make sure the compressor is engaging and the condenser fan/s are running. Then, check the pressures of the system. If low add to recommend ounces of refrigerant.

Check that first and get back to me

I am an HVAC tech. Mostly commercial buildings but I dabble in automotive for friends. You will need a set of refrigeration gauges, proper refrigerant R134a approx 750g to fill from empty, vaccum pump, micron gauge, scale, and most importantly experience with refrigerant as it can cause severe frost bite almost instantly if you contact it in the liquid state. If you have a slow leak it must be repaired before you can recharge a system. My recommendation is to take it to a local shop that specializes in A/C. Dont let the guy do you any favors by just topping up the charge for you. It will leak out again and become an ongoing issue/expense. Fix it right the first time, then recharge, then no more hassles

Good plan, most indy shops can take care of this sort of issue, but when you need it done right, take it to Audi

That's hilarious! My audi techs didnt know a damn thing about how to fix my 'check engine light'. Bunch of stupid thieves.

Call around and talk to independant shops. They're your best bet. I found one that was able to correctly diagnos AND fix my problem for $3000 less than Audi wanted (for the wrong job).

Hey a/c tech .... i have an a6, 2001 2.7LT i bought in January. knew the a/c did not work, had audi give me a once over with a list but dealer is 60+miles away so i hooked up with a local i know and we were getting started on some stuff. Car was wrecked in front right and there was a wiring harness that was sheared and never replaced. my mech guy just got a chance today, took out the radiator, got into it and i told him i would ask on the forum anyone that may know the part and the part number and maybe an oem or used source for that harness. any tips? i just love my car! first night i got it, snowed a foot and i was out at 1am driving around in it? thanks
