I have a 99 A4 2.8 quattro and my windows no longer roll down, (no light on the door controls and they do not roll down with the key in the door) the sunroof does not work, and the interior lights do not turn on when the doors open, only when they are manually turned on. I have checked the fuses--none that are blown. Anyone that can help??

 

my windows and interior lights are not working and my dash is saying all of my doors are open except my driver door. Have no idea what's wrong all my fuses are good and I don't think I'm getting power to the window control. wondering how much it might cost to get the problem fixed or if I could do it myself

 

The wiring under the passenger carpet rubs and shorts out, it comes down the kick panel under the carpet to the ecu in a black plastic box near the seat. Also the wiring to the rear footwell lights can short out. Hope that helps.

 

Same stuff not working on my 99 A6 wagon. After I repeatedly checked the fuses I found a blown # 14 "dome lights" fuse blown. It lasted about 80 miles or so then I noticed the dome lights coming on for a second by themselves, dimly and them the fuse would blow. I'm going to check for a harness running under the carpet, that seems pretty logical!
